Planning to join or transfer to the military reserves? You have unique rights and obligations in the Reserves that many service members aren't aware of. I joined the Marine Reserves in 2007, and over the past 17 years, I've completed three deployments and experienced all four statuses: Normal Drilling Reservist (SMCR), Active Reservist (AR), Individual Marine Augmentee (IMA), and Individual Ready Reservist (IRR). I enjoy educating and mentoring fellow or prospective military members as they navigate the reserve system, and the obligations are similar across all branches. What questions do you have?
